
Serves 4
Ingredients:
For the Koftas:
600 ml Milk
2-3 tbsp Lemon juice
4 tbsp Gram flour (besan)
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
For the Gravy:
3 tsp Oil
400 ml Milk
1 large Onion
2 medium Tomatoes
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
2 Green chilies
Salt to taste
Method:
For the Koftas:
- Heat milk in pan & bring it to boil. Remove from heat.
- Add lemon juice. Stir slowly & gently until white curd forms on the surface & separates from whey.
- Strain the milk. This will give you "chenna". Squeeze chenna to make sure that most water is extracted.
- Knead chenna to make smooth dough.
- Make small balls of equal size and wrap each ball in gram flour.
- Fry these chenna balls in oil until golden brown and keep aside.
For the Gravy:
- Fry chopped onion until it turns pink.
- Add turmeric powder & green chilies.
- Add chopped tomatoes and fry well till the mixture starts separating from oil.
- Now add milk in it & let it boil. Keep stirring in between.
- Boil for approx. 5-7 min, add the fried chenna balls & let boil for another 2 min.
- Serve hot with roties.
